1. OBESITY AND
NUTRITION  

Obesity in the United States is a major health issue,
resulting in numerous diseases, especially increased risk of certain types of
cancer, coronary artery disease se, type 2 diabetes, stroke, a s w ell as
significant increases in early mortality and economic c o s t s. T h e Kitengie
Foundation Inc. seeks to intervene by educating society about these effects
through: · Awa redness about nutritious food · Workshops on food basket ,
safety net ( as a safeguard against possible hardship or a diversity ) ,
budgeting and money management  

2. PSYCHSOCIAL
SUPPORT  

Psychosocial support helps individuals a n d communities to
heal the psychological wounds and rebuild social structures after an emergency
or a critical event. It can help change people in to active survivors rather
than passive victims. This project seeks to support and rehabilitate American
and the refugee communities living in Connecticut, who are survivors of political
conflicts and other various kin d s o f t r a u m a tic experiences and
integrate 3 them into society where they can participate actively in their own
healing and transformational development. The following activities will
facilitate the psychosocial support project: · Trauma Awareness · Emergency
Response · Stress and Trauma Workshops · Debriefing and Trauma Counseling
Services · Training of Trauma Counselors  

5. EDUCATION&
CHILD DEVELOPMENT  

Kids’ CenterOffering aftercare and homework assistance ·
English Literacy Classes- Offering English classes for adults and parents who
cannot read, speak and write English for everyday and workplace communication
purposes.
